• What is the angle of elevation?
• Hey there! Can you help me finish some measurements for my math class?
• If the rope is 10 ft to my left and 7 ft above me then I can use the Pythagorean Theorem! 10*10 + 7*7 = 149. The square root of 149 is roughly 12.2. So the rope is about 12.2 feet away!

• How far away are the rocks from the base of the tree?
• How far away is the end of the rope ?
• Well, I'm about 23 feet away from the tree and I'm looking up at an angle of around 36 degrees so I can use tangent to solve this! Tan36= x/23, X=16.7. Add that to my height of 5 feet and the tree is 21.7 feet tall!

• The top of the volcano is 534 meters tall and I'm 703 meters away from it. Lets use sine to find the angle of elevation. SinX= 534/703. X= 49.4.So the angle of elevation is roughly 49.4 degrees!

• The rocks are 12 feet away from the top of the palm tree with an angle of elevation of 28 degrees so we should use cosine. Cos28 = x/12, X=10.6. So the rocks are about 10.6 feet away from the bottom of the tree!
