Protagonist: The Physician
You will get better, and live!
Conflict: Person vs. Person
... but she's the princess
It was not long before the young man had become the most famous physician in the whole world (Grimm, 18). Death gives the physician a herb that can heal all sick people, but Death wants him to only use it on people he is told to. The physician believes he should use the herb to heal everyone, he disagrees with Death.
"'I am Death, who makes everyone equal'" (Grimm, 13). Death and the physician disagree on who the herb that makes you healthy should be used on. Death thinks that the herb should be only used on the people he chooses, therefore he is the antagonist because he goes against the physician.
"'If I could only deceive death for once," thought the physician. "He will be angry, of course, but because I am his godson he will shut one eye. I will risk it'" (Grimm 20). The conflict is that the physician wants to use the herb to save everyone, but death does not want him to do so. This is a person vs. person because death and the physician are disagreeing
