My dream is to start a U.S colony in Spanish Texas.
I agree I will follow your conditions
There was a reasons so many people wanted Texas to become part of the Unites States. Much of this region was perfect for growing cotton which was the most valuable crop.
It all started with Moses Austin, who was a banker and was a business owner who dreamed of starting a U.S colony in spanish Texas. In the year of 1821, Spanish officals granted Austin a huge piece of land. After Moses Austin dies in that same year his son Stephen took over his dad's dream.
We don't approve of their actions.
Stephen F. Austin arrived in Texas just as Mexico declared it's independence from Spain and took control over Texas. Mexican officials agreed to let Austin start his colony under certain conditions. He agreed to terms by 1827
We have earned our Independence! And we are officially the 28th state of the United States
The success of Austin's colony started a rush to Texas. The americans had several complaints they where so used to governing themselves. Even the Tejanos also had their own complaints. They where unhappy that many Americans where coming to Texas with out Mexico's permission.
Americans in Texas resented these actions. A group led by a lawyer named William Travis began calling for a revolution. Another group was led by Stephen F. Austin who asked the Mexican government to reopen Texas to immigration. In 1833, Austin traveled to Mexico to talk to the new general Antonio López de Santa Anna.
In late February 1836, a large part of Santa Anna's army reached San Antonio, Texas. The Texans had taken over an old mission known as the Alamo. Among them was Davy Crockett, William Travis and James Bowie. Sam Houston was the commander of the revolutionary army. They started the The Texas War for Independence.Texas won their independence they earned their nick name the Lone Star state. In the year 1845 texas was the 28th state.
