A New Constitution
Against Equal Rights
During this time, women did not have the same rights as men. Some of the rights that men had that women didn't include the right to vote and they can't have the same jobs. Most women did not like this and found it unfair.
A group of women decided to create a new constitution. This new constitution took the rights of the old constitution and modified it to include women. For example, "all men have the right to vote" was changed to "All men and women have the right to vote".
There were also groups that believed that this was wrong. These groups believed that women were supposed to stay home and keep the house and be happy. These groups had close to no affect on the changes that were soon to come.
