Storyboard Text

  • The Second Great Awakening focused on a revival of religion. It was spread throughout the western frontier from camp meetings like the one above.
  • I am Charles Grandison, one of the most prominent revivalist preachers.
  • Others, however, shifted away from traditional beliefs and began to believe science and reasoning. Such philosophers began to question the church and saw it as corrupt and power hungry.
  • Why yes, I must say that it has to be one of the most interesting books I've ever read.
  • Have you heard about my new book, "The Age of Reason"
  • Around the same time, John Smith created a religion based off the visions he saw. When translated, the golden tablets he received became the Book of Mormon.

  •                 Dear Legislature,             Our public schooling at the current         moment is atrocious. I am simply just an         advocator for better schools but please hear me out. These kids are our future for us and the nation. I believe that education should be free to all kids and taught by professional teachers.                                               From,                                                        Horace Mann
  • Thanks to Horace Mann's fervent efforts for better education, schools for teaching professional teachers opened up. This change helped develop educated teachers and set the foundation for school systems today.
  • The cat is in the hat.
  • I understand this!
