  • Heroin Is a drug. Heroin is a white or light brown powder or a milky liquid or black and sticky substance and is highly addictive and its very popular
  • Don't people use heroin to get high or a rush of good feeling
  • Yes, Emily you are correct. Heroin is a depressant which helps the users get high but if they get off of it then they will want more and the amount of usage will increase
  • Some street name of heroin are called Black Tar, Big H, Smack, and Thunder
  • Those names don't sound so Appealing
  • How is heroin taken? Overdose effects?! Short-term effects?
  • Heroin can be taken in shots or it can be sniffed/snorted. But if needles were to be shared that can lead to other things like HIV. Due to overdose can lead to a coma or death and some short term affects are a warm feeling of Skin, Dry Mouth, and Vomitting
  • Withdraw affects? Long-term effects?
  • Some withdraw affects are restlessness, aches and pains in the bones, diarrhea, vomiting and severe discomfort. Some long term affects are Hepatitis C Decision, making skills and Behavioral skills
  • 20% of 12 graders say that they can get heroin easlily if they wanted. 90% of Americans with a substance abuse problem started smoking, drinking or using other drugs before age 18.
