Listen here, laddies. Let me unlock my word-hoard and tell you all about a wicked Robomonster who terrorized Earth and the Moon back in 3000 A.C. He was a "fiend out of hell... a grim demon" (lines 100-103)
RARGH! ERROR 404- SAFETY NOT FOUND!
The inhuman wire-crusher was known as Grendel, and he made it a habit to terrorize Moon Country at night, breaking into the Grand Charging Station and picking off some of the sphere's most noble Robowarriors.
Hrothgar, King of the Moon, sent Hygelac, King of Europe, a transmission asking for help. As good king-mates do, Hygelac sent an astronaut-warrior for help.
He was known as Beowulf, son of Ecgtheow, and he was the mightiest man not only across all of Europe but throughout the entire green-orb. His bravery in boldly deciding to cut down Grendel showed how he was ready to sacrifice himself for the common good.
Hrothgar and his court had tried everything they could think of, but Grendel would still kill those who guarded the Grand Charging Station every night, without mercy. Beowulf offered to fight him with no weapons. Hrothgar gave him approval. The fight would happen hand-to-hand that night.
"I hereby renounce sword and the shelter of the broad shield...Hand-to-hand is how it will be." (Lines 433-437)
They both faced each other and prepared to fight. Grendel was vastly larger, and as a beast descended from Zuckerberg the Terrible (the personification of evil himself), Grendel's robotic prowess made even Beowulf seem weak. But the loyal and courageous Beowulf stood his ground firmly.
