  • The Boers moved towards South Africa and spoke Afrikaans. The Britain's government took over made a big move which was made by British businessman named Cecil Rhodes. From the last 20 years he spent at south Africa  controlled their diamonds production.

  • South Africa Is a Republic!!
  • Apartheid was the main cause of Africans were complaining, It took many of their rights away and had segregation. Their lands were taken over by the whites and was illegal to colored to live and work in certain places. Colored were not allowed to vote or be part of the national government.
  • 4: Recovery
  • 1996 Constitution Free Rights For Blacks! :) MMMM MMMMMMMM
  • Africans made a government that fought apartheid and the white population called the ANC. South Africans marched through the streets or schools to protest the violent Afrikaners. At least 575 people were killed and 3/4 were all black.

  • In 1961, Hedrick Verwoerd stated that South Africa was a republic. The South African government outlawed the ANC. By the 1980s The US and UK were heavily pressuring South Africa to set Mandela free from conspiracy. Then the new 1984 constituion came, and many South African groups  protested about the constitution exluding blacks from voting in the national elections.
  • In 1989 F.W. De Klerk was elected President of South Africa. 1994 was the year of the first All-Races elections that included blacks. Mandela retired in 1999 and took over by Thabo Mbeki. Also in 1996 SA adopted a new Constitution.
