  • Mr. Summers
  • Old Man Warner
  • seventy-seventh year
  • The Black Box
  • Typically, summer is a time where you relax and have fun go on vacation to relieve stress from jobs and school. In the story “The Lottery” in is the opposite the people get nervous and stressed. Mr. Summers brings the black box that gets everybody nervous and stressed. This illustrates that his name is a contradiction of what people think of summer and what Mr. summers is in “The Lottery”.
  • Soccer
  • typacally, a preson can choose what happens in their life. Old Man Warner said it was his seventy-seventh time. this means that some people dont have control over their life.
  • Typically an old destroyed black box is known to be an antique or something that no one wants. In “The lottery” the black box represents a tradition that no one except for Mr. Summers seem to want to change the black box for a new one. This means that the black box symbolizes the tradition that these people have.
  • Typically a soccer ball is a thing that is used for soccer and for competing. In my life soccer is a sport that is past down from my ancestors to have a great time and to see how you can pass barriers to get to to the goal if I try. Meaning that this sport is not only for playing and competing but having a great time and doing your best.
