- Romulus and Remus decide to build a city of their own, but can not agree on where they should build it. Because of this, Remus builds an enclosed city on the Aventine Hill, and Romulus builds his city on the Palatine Hill.
- Remus visits Romulus’ city and makes fun of his wall by leaping over it, showing how easily it can be climbed. Romulus is so annoyed by this that he kills his brother for mocking his kingdom.
- In 753 B.C.E. Romulus becomes the first king of Rome and populates his city with runaway slaves, convicted criminals, and stolen women from the nearby Sabine tribe.
- The Sabine tribe retaliates after Romulus steals their women, and declares war on Rome.
- The Sabine tribe and Romulus reach an agreement, and the Sabine’s become a part of Rome under the rule of Romulus.
- After many years of ruling Rome, Romulus is carried up to the heavens by his father, Mars, and is worshipped as the God Quirinus.
