  • Della wants to sell her hair.

  • Life is made up of sobs,sniffles, and smiles.
  • Jim and Della are not follish because they showed each other how much they care.
  • Della decides to cut her hair to sell it to buy Jim a chain for his watch and Jim sells his watch to buy combs for Dellas hair, this is an example of irony because they sold things that were most precious to them for someone that they cared about. This helps the reader understand irony because she cant use the combs for her hair and Jim cant use the chain for his watch.
  • This is an example of irony because not having enough money for a gift isn't really a big deal but for her it was because she wanted to show her love for Jim through a gift.
  • This is a example of irony because they seem foolish but, its that they gave up something for someone they really care about.This helps the reader understand dramatic irony because they really care to give up something for the other.
