I'm so thankful that America pursued the idea of Manifest Destiny. Many people settled out west, like in California, where Apple was founded. I wouldn't be as rich without Apple. I invested in them when the company was founded and I've been getting more and more money ever since!
Although America exploring west made the country more wealthy and powerful, it ended up killing many Native Americans.
I'll prove it to you. Lets take my time machine to see what really happened.
I don't believe you.
This is the place where the Fetterman Massacre happened. During the massacre, the Americans killed almost 60 Natives from the tribes of Lakota, Cheyenne and Arapaho. Though this Massacre resulted in an Indian victory, it started conflict between the Natives and Americans which lead to more deaths.
Wow! He was right!
10 minutes later...
This is where John Ross lived. He was one of the leaders of the Cherokee tribe. He ended up saving many Cherokee by suggesting that groups split up on the Trail of Tears to find resources.
This is the place that Andrew Jackson passed the Indian Removal Act. This act forced all Native Americans to move out of their territory to Indian Reservations where they had to start a new life. At the time, President Andrew Jackson thought that this was a good idea, and it was to almost all Americans. Davy Crocket thought this was wrong. He tried to fight for the rights of the Natives but no one would listen to him even after he acquired a higher role in the government.
I'm always right.
I guess you were right. Manifest Destiny expanded our country, but killed many Native people in the process.
