Using your money wisely is an example of Instant gratification vs. delayed gratification
Saving your money by putting it in a bank is an example of delayed gratification. You put your money in a good bank and it builds interest on itself.
Impulse buying is an example of instant gratification. You want something now, so you buy it and don't think about the long term effect.
In the end, instant gratification doesn't help you in the long run. Sometimes you can end up seriously damaging your future.
For the people who waited and had self-discipline, they rewarded themselves and got more money than they had before.
