Hi, I'm Bob the water molecule. I will be guiding you through the water cycle journey I go through. My journey begins in the ocean.
I turn into water vapor or gas and float up to the sky. This process is called evaporation. It starts getting cooler as I go up and due to the loss of thermal energy, I change from a gas to a liquid state. This is called condensation and I'm now a cloud not an H2O droplet anymore.
In time, the drops of water like me that are in the clouds become so large and heavy that they fall down. I fall as rain onto the glacier. This is called precipitation.
Wow, that was rough! The glacier had just melted. I have nfiltrated the soil and I am now being stored as groundwater.
My journey continues as I seep from groundwater into the river. I travel some more by flowing into a lake.
Uh-oh! An animal has come by for a drink. I have now been consumed by the animal and will soon be excreted as waste. Then, I will penetrate the soil and repeat my journey over again.
