There was a woman who was very beautiful, and even though her family had a nice house and lifestyle she had no luck and didn't have enough money in her family. So the house seems to whisper constantly, "There must be more money!"
When she explains to her youngest son, Paul, that they don't have enough luck for money, he starts furiously riding his rocking horse hoping that it will take him to luck.
Paul continued to ride his rocking horse, which has caused him to be able to predict the winner of the next derby. He gives all of the money that he's earned to his mother, but the voices only grow louder because she had spent it all at once. This causes Paul to only grow more anxious.
The next derby was coming up and Paul was obsessively thinking about it. So when his mother comes home he was furiously rocking on the rocking horse saying that it's Malabar who's the winner.
Bassett puts a thousand on Malabar, which is the horse that Paul said would win, and Paul then tells his mother that he's lucky.
Paul then later dies in the night days after from his growing illness.
