Look at this beautiful island!
We must try and continue to build houses
The Polynesians had brought with them food the food crops they were planning to plant, but they found that many did not grow well on the island.
The Polynesians were able to build houses, grow and prepare food, make clothing, keep warm during cold and rainy seasons and care for their children.
The amount of palm forest used resulted in a huge deforestation and newly exposed soil began to erode. The erosion decreased the soil's fertility making it less appropriate for the growth of food crops as well as trees.
The alternative ending could have been that they should have used different resources to build the houses.
