Storyboard Text

  • Praise be to Big Brother!
  • Winston writes in his journal while attempting to hide it all from the telescreen.
  • His one source of hope is his belief that O'Brien secretly agrees with him, because they once caught eyes during a Two Minutes Hate.
  • Mrs. Parsons asks Winston to fix a pipe in her house, but her kids, who've been trained by the Party, spend their time hurting him while he's there.
  • Big brother is watching.
  • As he enters the room, Winston is very surprised to see that the prostitue looks 50 years old.
  • Winston tries to get an old man at a pub to recount stories of how the world used to be a long time ago.
  • After finally getting from her a note that says "I love you," Winston and the girl meet in a public plaza where they won't be picked out individually by the telescreens.
