Storyboard Text

  • Symbolism: Tradition
  • I want to leave this place !
  • oh no whyyy!!
  • Images: Sight
  • Figures of Speech: Idiom
  • The towns people dreaded the tradition because of the death that took place.
  • Tone: Relieved
  •  I could see the flowers blossoming profusely and the grass looking richly green. The way the author wrote the setting gave us a sense of how it looked like.
  • Theme: Unnecessary
  • is killing people just cause its a tradition necessary?
  • In the text it said "...corn be heavy soon" it sounds like the weight of the corn will increase but what it actually means is there will be a large amount of corn growing.
  • Juxtaposition
  • In the text a towns person after stoning Mrs. Hutchinson said, "that was done pretty fast".
  • glad we got that over with
  • The tradition showed in the story, shows that traditions are unnecessary because Mrs. Hutchinson got stoned to death.
  • Two unlike ideas that are placed side by side. An example of this is Tessie being represented as the head of the family. But Dave represents the future of the Hutchinson family.
