This is Riley. She is going to be taking a trip around the world to eight different places in eight days.
While in France Riley learns that they have a market economy like the U.S. Market economy means that resources are owned and controlled by the people of the country. Riley also realizes that with having a market economy France's automobile companies get to choose things like the color and brand of cars that people will think are more appealing.
When in Cuba Riley decides she wants to buy a shirt but when she tries to buy a red t-shirt she realizes it's way too expensive. This is because in Cuba they have a command economy so that means the government controls everything. The reason that the red shirt is so expensive is because red shirts in Cuba are very rare. The government only lets factories produce 400 red t-shirts per year.
