First, the food is chewed up in the mouth, saliva is used to help the process of breaking it down.
After that the food travels down the oesophagus and down to the stomach.
Once the food has reached the stomach, acid is used to further churn up the food.
After the food exits the stomach it passes into the small intestine in which it is further digested.
After the food has passed through the small intestine it enters the large intestine, in here the water will be absorbed.
And after the food's journey though the large intestine it will exit the body.
