In the past we used items like this to store files. All files were hard copies and no digital files were kept.
Enter the digital age! Now files could be edited and stored electronically, however, memory was limited and businesses had to be cautious of what they saved. They also had to backup their files to a local server.
Then computers developed tons of storage and local servers could have even more storage.
The next big step was cloud storage. This allows files to be accessed remotely, anywhere a person has internet access.
Cloud storage opened up a new set of issues. Security of files stored on the internet is an ongoing battle.
The modern business has a number of file storage options and security issues that go with each option. The company can pick and choose what best fits their needs.
