Storyboard Text

  • Say emma, isnt it a wonderful day at the beach? With all the waves?
  • The features of a wave include:
  • I think its gr- wait. You said waves right? I LOVE WAVES! Remember? Mrs. Gwydir taught us all abou them!
  • Oh yeah! I remember! I think what made you think of "waves" was the waves in the ocean. Thats a type of wave, right?
  • Yup! Now, lets go around and see if we can find anymore waves! Wait, arent waves sometimes invisible?
  • Waves can be found in our everyday lives. For example, they can be found in the ocean! Another example could be sound waves. We cant see them, but they are still waves that give off sound. They travel super fast.
  • Lets learn some more about waves!
  • To add on to that, there are 2 types of waves> longitudinal and Transverse.
  • Wavelength, Frequency, and Amplitude. The Wavelength is the distance between a waves crest.  The frequency is  how often a wave goes up ad down. And the amplitude is the height of a Transverse wave.
  • When Mrs. Gwydir played the simon says game with us. She played the game with us in a unique way. For example, when she said simon says, longitudinal wave, she would have us go in a a sort of fanning motion with our hands to represent the flow of the waves.
  • My favorite part of this unit was...
  • Simon says, longitudinal wave!
  • Aleena, you're out!
  • Transverse wave!
  • I think thats enough waves for today
  • I agree. But hey, thanks for all this great info about Waves!
