Kamala tells Siddartha to become a wealthy man and he does in order to marry her, however Siddartha's lavish lifestyle does not give him the spiritual enlightenment he seeks
Some time after his return to the river Kamala and a young boy pass by but Kamala is bitten by a snake and dies
Realising the young boy is his son he decides to take him in
The boy's resistant nature leads him to run away from home
Siddartha is consoled by Vasudeva who urges him to let the boy find his own path
Siddartha listening to the river atains enlightenment and many years later imparts his knowledge with his old friend Govinda
