Storyboard Text

  • I wonder what it is, because today is our big day.. Epee!
  • Wake up Dan! I hear mom calling us.
  • kids I need you both to prepare party bags for 25 friends. But first I need to know how much items to buy. There should be a ratio of 6:3:2 candies, toys and balloons in each bag.
  • That means we should buy 25 of each item
  • No Jen, if we buy only 25 of each item there will only be one of each item in the bags.
  • Dan, I don't understand what is RATIO.
  • Ratio is one way of comparing numbers, or quantities of the same kind.
  • I think I am starting to understand, but please explain more.
  • Given the total number of party bags is 25, we need to multiply each number in the ratio times 25. 25 x 6 = 150 25 x 3 = 75 25 x 2 = 50
  • We get 25!
  • OK Jen, when we divide 6 into 150, what is our answer?
  • 3 into 75 gives us 25 and 2 into 50 gives us 25.
  • When we divide 3 into 75, and 2 into 50 how much do we get?
