Storyboard Text

  • Last night I told my twins, Erin and Aaron, that it was time for bed. Instead of being pouty, they were excited because it meant storytime with mom.
  • They usually ask me a question about an adventure I had as a young woman. So Erin asked...
  • And Aaron said....
  • Erin, are you kidding? We all know mermaids are not real.
  • Mom, did you ever see a mermaid when you were younger?
  • Yes,I Have!
  • When I was very little, my class and I went on a field trip to the beach. I was the only one to see the mermaid.
  • What's your name? Have you eaten seaweed? Do you like tuna?
  • We became really good friends and asked each other a lot of questions.
  • Do you come hear often? Are you the daughter of Poseidon? Do you turn into a human?
  • Have you been to space? Have you been to New York? How long have you been a human?
  • Would you like to be my friend??
  • Back at home.
  • Aaron, be nice. Oops! It's 11:00p.m! Good night kids.
  • Mama, why do you keep telling her fairytales? I mean, "mermaidtales." She is 6 years old! Even I, at my 6 years of age, know that mermaids are not real.
  • And 'till this day we keep in  contact.
  • Wow! That's very cool, mama. Can you tell us more?
  • No, that it for tonight, honey.
