Storyboard Text

  • Hello! Today we're going to be exploring the renal and nervous systems of the human body.
  • We'll start with the renal system, which is the body's way of removing wastes from the blood.
  • The first part of the renal system is the renal artery and renal vein.
  • The renal artery carries dirty blood to the kidneys, while the vein takes clean blood to the heart.
  • The next part of this system is the two kidneys. The kidneys filter blood and remove wastes.
  • Removed wastes are transported to the rest of the system, while the blood is carried to the heart.
  • The waste, known as urine or pee, is next transported through the ureters.
  • The ureters are tubes that move the urine to the urinary bladder.
  • The urinary bladder is hollow and stretches. Its function is to store urine.
  • This process is known as urination.
  • The last part of the renal system is the urethra, a tube that carries urine outside the body.
