At the beginning of the story, Wiesel and his father are introduced and are living in Sighet
Wiesel and his family are taken away and taken into concentration camp
Wiesel's father becomes sick and dies. Wiesel is the only person left in his family
The falling action is when Ellie and his father leave the camp and begin to take the long march in harsh conditions in the wintertime to another camp
The camps are liberated by American soldiers
The theme of night is the loss of innocence and religion and tests of faith. Throughout the book, Weisel's religion is tested and he eventually loses faith in the rest of the world and question if his God will save him.
