  • The pioneers houses were made out of wood planks. Men hunted while the women picked berries and cooked.
  • They ate fish, otter, seals, shell fish, crab, elk, bear, deer, beaver, whales, fish, and salmon. The people of the Pacific Northwest did not waist any parts of the animal they ate.
  • Trees provided everything they needed except their food. That includes wood for their houses, and wood for making weapons. There was also a lot of grass for miles.
