  • I am William Loyd Garrison, I'm also deeply opposed to slavery and want to help end it.
  • My name is Fredrick Douglas, I am an escaped slave. 
  • Slavery needs to end!
  • God is going to end slavery peaceful!
  • Many Americans opposed slavery even before the American Revolution began, but in 1831 one of the first steps to end slavery began. A deeply religious man named William Loyd Garrison started a newspaper called The Liberator, about ending slavery. 
  • No more Slavery! 
  • Fredrick Douglas quickly became a leader in Abolitionist Movement, and helped spread what it was like to be a slave. The impact of the movement is still happening to date with Black lives matter marches, Many other marches protesting conditions and laws happened because of this movement.
  • Many women were inspired by religious reform movements to become involved in the fight against slavery, they to often faced violence by Pro slavery supporters.
  • The reform movement changed how people thought of slaves, it also made it a Political and Emotional topic. It also brung out whether to have slaves or not have them.
  • The Abolitionist Movement helped to bring an end to slavery, and make the Civil War about ending slavery. Many people fought hard to end slavery, including white men and woman. Women helped the African Americans even when they did not have the right to vote themselves.
  • The abolitionist movements affect on America was, ending slavery. The movement to end racial segregation and discrimination is still going on. The Abolitionist movement inspired other movements to arise, for example The women's right's movement.
