Charlie Bone discovers he can hear people talking in photographs and his horrible aunts are delighted that he has this new talent.
That's certainly not a dog
Charlie, tell me what you hear.
I hear voices from this photograph.
Ben, I have started to hear voices in photographs.
Charlie your mother wants you back at the house.
He clearly needs to attend the academy.
Come on Charlie, try or we'll make you cry
Nothing. I don't hear anything.
What do you hear Charlie?
Look at those photographs. Do you hear anything?
Charlie Bone receives the enlarged photo of his friends dog Runner Bean which he requested from Kwik Foto, to make a birthday card for his friend Benjamin Brown but instead he receives a photo of a man cradling a baby and starts to hear voices.
Thanks for bringing my photos. I hope this is yours. To thank you I would like to offer you some of my brother in laws inventions.
Yes that's my photo of my friends dog, Runner Bean.
Charlie explains to his friend Benjamin that he has started to hear voices in pictures. First in a photograph in a newspaper and then in a photo he incorrectly received from Kwik Photo.
The picture is all I had of my niece. Shortly after my sister Nancy died, her husband Dr Tolly, had given his daughter away and exchanged his baby for the metal case.
Thanks for the robotic dog and metal case.
Grandma Bone invites all three of Charlie's great aunts (the Yewbeams) to discuss and assess Charlie's potential powers. His mother cannot be present however his uncle can.
I'm going to a big school near the heights called Bloor's Academy. I don't want to go there, Ben.
Charlie goes to the address shown on the back of the incorrect photograph he received from Kwik Foto. The address takes him to a book store where he meets Miss Ingledew.
Miss Ingledew thanks Charlie by offering him some boxes containing her brother in-laws inventions and a silver box. She explains to Charlie that she wants to find her niece.
Charlie tells Benjamin about him leaving to go to Bloor's academy.
