#### Storyboard Text

• Hey Ryan I need 80% acid solution for a chemistry experiment.
• But Cove I only have pure acid and I have to use the 3 gallons of 50% acid we have.
• So how much pure acid should be mixed with 3 gallons of 50% in order to get 80% solution
• LETS SEE!
• so the amount of gallons of pure acid is going to be the X
• Yes!
• So x+3 = the total number of gallons of acid. Right?
• So if you multiply 3 by 50% you get the amount of pure acid in the 50% solution
• Exactly
• So x+3 multiplied by 80% is going to equal the amount of pure acid in the mix?
• Okay I understand then 1.5+x=.8(x+3)
• So get X by its self then divide by what X is multiplied by and you should have your answer.
• Yes, that's the equation you use to solve.
• 4.5 GALLONS!!!
• Thank you Ryan.
• It’s actually quite simple.
