Storyboard Text

  • The first event that led to me becoming a writer was writing a story about a demi-god I made up for 6th grade ELA class.
  • Luis! You have to read the story I wrote for ELA! I'm really proud of this.
  • Alright, alright, I'll read it. It better be good for you to be buggin' out like this.
  • The second reason that led me to love writing was my teacher's response to my story. As well as how proud of me she was.
  • Thank you Mrs. Parkinson, That means a lot.
  • Yeah. I think I will.
  • Ryan, I really enjoyed your short story. I was very impressed by the details.
  • Are you going to keep writing?
  • The third reason was me feeling like I couldn't talk to anyone about what issues I was having. So I would write about them instead.
  • What the heck is that suppose to mean?
  • Ohhhh. My bad.
  • See what I mean Fernando?
  • It's like I can't talk to anyone about anything because they don't understand.
  • Eventually I started writing anything I felt like writing about anything I thought I should. Including happy things.
  • Nope. I just enjoy it generally you should try it if you want.
  • I thought you only wrote when you were sad and stuff. But you're happy and still writing.
  • Maybe.
  • Another thing that made me keep writing was how my friends found my writing relatable and enjoyable.
  • Ethan I put it on your desk already.
  • Yo Ryan let me read your book real quick.
  • Ohhhhh ok.
  • I also used my writing to help others to put their frustrations into words when they couldn't.
  • Yeah anytime you need to talk, I'm here.
  • Thanks again for writing that poem about what I told you. It actually helped.
