  • “We haven’t met for many years,” said Daisy, her voice as matter-of-fact as it couldever be.“Five years next November.”- Daisy and Gatsby get to reconnect, they start their affair all over again, rekindling the love they once had.

Gatsby's eyes opened and closed. "You loved me TOO?" he repeated.- Gatsby realizes that he's lost Daisy but he fails to realize she wont leave Tom

  • " It all happened in a minute, but it seemed to me that she wanted to speak to us, thought we were somebody she knew. Well, first Daisy turned away from the woman toward the other car, and then she lost her nerve and turned back. The second my hand reached the wheel I felt the shock – it must have killed her instantly."- Tom believes that Gatsby had killed Myrtle which leads him to telling George that it was Gatsby who killed her and George believing it was him had the affair with her.

A rope stretched across the main gate and a policeman by it kept out the curious"-When Gatsby dies so does the American Dream, the dream all people have.
