  • Thrice, and once the hedge-pig whined
  • Harper cries "'Tis time, 'tis time!"
  • Thrice the brinded cat hath mewed.
  • Saw you the Weird Sisters?
  • No, my lord
  • You must have patience, madam.
  • What had he done to make him fly the land?
  • This depicts the witches at the very beginning of the act, the witches are chanting together. They are circled around a cauldron giving sacrifices of different animals.
  • What is a traitor?
  • Why, one that swears and lies.
  • This is Macbeth and Lennox talking to each other and Macbeth is asking if Lennox saw the witches and he says no.
  • I am not treacherous
  • But Macbeth is.
  • This is Lady Macduff talking with Ross about Macduff leaving. Lady Macduff asks Ross what Macduff did that he left. Ross tells her to just have patience.
  • My children too?
  • Wife, children, servants, all that could be found.
  • Lady Macduff is telling her son that his dad is a traitor. The son asks her what a traitor is and she tells him one that swears and lies.
  • Macduff and Malcolm are talking and Macduff says he is not treacherous, Malcolm then says Macbeth is though.
  • Macduff was informed by Ross that his wife was killed. He asks if the children were too, Ross replies with that his wife, children, servants, and all that could be found were killed.
