Storyboard Text

  • You don't have to work here, you are 18 your father doesn't control you.
  • I work 12 hours a day and only get paid $.30 and hour
  • I feel bad for these people, they work all day and get paid just about nothing
  • You can feel bad, but if it weren't for this shop most of the workers would have no job. I think if they didn't wan to do it they would stop, but the need the money.
  • Why do i have to work such long days as a 14 year old.
  • Even if you wanted to work so long you aren't allowed because you must be 16 to work long days
  • Some parents force their children to work in the shops so that the family can have money. I feel that the kids should be able to go to school and do a kind of work they enjoy because they can also get paid more.
  • Listen son,  you just need to be more careful. If you pay attention you won't get hurt.
  • Dad, I cut my hand today because it got stuck in the belt for a second.
  • I understand how people can feel bad due to the long days and low pay, but the workers choose to do this work, most of them would have not income if it weren't for the shop.
  • I've worked all week and only made $15 dollars.
  • Young children are illegally over worked in sweat shops and it isn't fair that hey are forced to work long days when they legally aren't supposed to because they aren't 16.
  • I think we should increase the wage to $.50 an hour. It will benefit all workers.
  • Work conditions aren't the best, most people aren't eve trained for the job they do. This makes workers more vulnerable to injury.
  • Workers get paid nearly half of minimum wage. They make only around $1000 a year.  It's not the best pay but most people would have no job if they didn't work at sweat shops.
  • If wage was increased people would work harder and be happier.
