Storyboard Text

  • Land hungry farmers were tired of poor harvests in the Northwest, and wanted to cultivate Indian lands
  • You moved us to land that you didn't care about as a punishment, and now you're taking it away?
  • Yep, your land looks real pretty now
  • 1889: Despite already punishing The Five Civilized Tribes for siding with the Confederacy, they transferred the Oklahoma territory to public domain
  • These Indians have already betrayed the Union by serving the South, we'll do what we want with them
  • The interests of our people are colonizing the lands Natives inhabit
  • We already punished them
  • Many people arrived illegally before Congress made this area public domain, and these 'Sooners' already plowed fields when others arrived.
  • Come on, ya know we ain't gonna give them Indians they land, I jus' wanna make some money
