  • On March 22, 1765 the Stamp Act was passed. The Stamp act was tax that was imposed on the colonists. What the stamp act did was it put tax on multiple items including lead, glass, tea, silk, paper, playing cards, and marriage document.
  • The Intolerable Act
  • In 1767 the Townshend Act was passed. The Townshend act was an act that allowed British officers to enter your private property whenever they wanted to, therefor abusing their power.
  • The Second Continental Congress
  • We still need to meet up, even though the British have prohibited us from meeting.
  • December 16, 1773, Samuel Adams and the Sons of Liberty boarded three ships in the Boston harbor and threw 342 chests of tea overboard.

  • The intolerable Act was passed March 24, 1774. The British closed the harbor therefor preventing town hall meetings due to the Boston Tea Party.
  • The Second Continental Congress took place in the spring of 1775. The Second Continental Congress was a convention of delegates from the thirteen colonies that started meeting in the spring of 1775 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
  • The article Common Sense was published in the January of 1776. Thomas pain argued for 2 main points, one is the independence from England, two is the creation of a democratic republic.
