  • Winnie
  • Jesse
  • Tuck
  • On a hot August evening a stranger in a bright yellow suit strolled up to the cottage. He asked if her family had lived their for a long time, Winnie replied by saying "forever".
  • Mae
  • Winnie is in the woods when she meets Jesse and finds out about the spring and how it makes things live forever. So she has to go with the Tucks so that she doesn't tell about it.
  • She then has to stay with them until she understands the problem and keeps the spring a secret. While she is there she begins to like them.
  • Later, the man in the yellow suit appears and explains how he had been told about a family that never dies. He then tried to take Winnie back to the Fosters against her will so Mae hit him in the back of the head with a shotgun, she did this right when the constable showed up. Mae was sent to jail because the man in the yellow suit died.
  • Winnie helps the rest of the Tucks by acting as Mae so the constable doesn't know she escaped. In the morning the constable finds out and has bring her home.
  • Epilogue: In the year 1950 the Tucks return to Treegap and find how much it has changed. The forest with the spring had caught fire and the whole area had to be cleared out and the spring was gone. They stop by a graveyard and find Winnie's grave and that she had died two years earlier. They decide that since Winnie was gone they no longer needed to come back.
