  • Nick receives a formal invitation to a "little party" being thrown.
  • Nick notices that a girl he knows named Jordan Baker is at the party and since she is the only person he knows he decides to stay with her.
  • Nick meets a man who he talks to about the war. later realizing he is Gatsby.
  • At the end of the party a car is crashed by a drunk driver.
  • Nick meets a man who he talks to about the war. later realizing he is Gatsby.
  • Nick begins to think he might love Jordan, but he stops himself from rushing into that too quickly. However he has a "tender curiosity" towards her.
