Scene 1: The strain put on Macbeth and Banquo's relationship by the witches prophecies is shown. Macbeth lies to Banquo about his thoughts on the prophecies which shows that he does not trust Banquo.
Scene 1: Macbeth hallucinates about a floating dagger. This hallucination happens because he is filled with guilt as he is about to go kill the king.
Scene 2: Macbeth comes back from killing Duncan and he is clearly distraught. He has brought back the daggers with him even though the plan was to leave them in the king's room. Lady Macbeth is not impressed that she has to put them back herself.
Scene 3: Duncan is Dead
