  • Story of Andrew Jackson
  • I was born on March 15, 1767, near Lancaster, South Carolina. My family was Scots-Irish immigrant farmers.
  • In May 1814 I was appointed to take over US troops, bringing the last battle in the War of 1812 to victory being "The Battle of New Orleans."
  • I became 7th president of United State on March 15, 1767
  • After winning the Presidential election in 1828, I introduced the spoils system,which I appoints civil servants to government jobs because they are loyal to me and my party.
  • Indian removal act authorized me to grant unsettled territories within existing state boundaries west of the Mississippi in return for Indian property.
