Storyboard Text

  • A double helix walks into a restaurant. He asks for a table for two.
  • Is there someone accompanying you this evening?
  • As the waiter walks up to the table, he notices that the double helix is sitting alone.
  • Nope. Just me.
  • The waiter walks away confused about why the double helix asked for the table for two.
  • The waiter comes back shortly after and notices a second person sitting at the table.
  • I thought you said nobody else was coming.
  • Nobody did. We are the same person. We just split. The enzymes ripped us apart causing our nucleotides and nitrogenous bases to be split up
  • Now who is this?
  • My identical twin. Can we please order already. I am starving. Okay, so I'll have the A's and C's and he will have the T's and G's. Oh and we'l split the Phosphate and the Deoxyribose
  • Ok, I'm starting to get it. You guys are like clones or something.
  • Sort of. We are unwound into two pieces by the helicase and the DNA polymerase just filled in any missing the pieces that we were missing from the other half, making us identical. Its super efficient! And for the meal, can we split the check?
