Storyboard Text

  • I need money!
  • Stop! What are you doing?
  • What have I done to myself? I regret ever attempting to steal the money.
  • Sydney Cove must have higher quality accomodation.
  • I don't want to leave England! Convict or not.
  • Living in England had lots of negatives especially if you were poor. Sometimes stealing was the only way of life.
  • Please....!
  • The prisons were reaching a appalling abundance as more and more minor crimes were committed. They simply couldn't afford accomodating and providing food for the convicts to consume and quell their appetites. Prisons were known as a disease prone areas as famine started occurring and rodents occupied the cells and brung more disease..
  • The volume of mosquitoes is unbearable.
  • What if the aborigines pose a semi-provoked attack.
  • A solution was provided when Captain James Cook foundered Australia and christened it as New Holland despite its  former occupants. Europe was eager to expand their empire and relieve the prisons of convicts. So much so, that when the opportunity arose they took it readily.
  • South Bank appeals to me. I'm glad we moved away from Redcliffe.
  • I would feel glad too if we didn't have to work and fell the trees.
  • After being shipped to Australia, the convicts were tasked with establishing the colony and erecting buildings to accommodate the new comers. If you disobeyed direct orders from any social rank higher than yourself you would be punished severely and in some cases, if you reoffended the colony, you were transported to a penal settlement.
  • So, these are the consequences if you give me cheek! To Redcliffe with you.
  • If you were a re-offending convict you may have been transported to the temporary settlement known as Redcliffe. However the large volume of mosquitoes and the fear of being vulnerable to the aboriginals and that they might pose a semi-provoked attack, who consistently conducted minor raids, resulted in the re-location of this colony to the Brisbane area.
  • Once in Brisbane, the convicts  felled the trees on the south bank and used the wood to construct a hospital, barracks and sleeping quarters. On the south bank they had built farms and shelters to breed cattle along with a dock to transport products and the income from the crops.
