CELL THEORY With Robert Hooke, Robert Brown, Matthias Schleiden, Theodore Schwann, and Rudolph Virchow
Robert Hooke discovered the cell in 1665, while looking at cork.
Robert Brown discovered the nucleus of a cell in 1828
Matthias Schleiden discovered that all plants are made of cells in 1839.
Theodore Schwann, discovered that all animals are made of cells in 1839.
Rudolph Virchow first stated that cells come from other cells in 1858
Unfortunately, Theodore Schwann was later turned into a sphinx, as the Queen didn't like to think that she was somehow related to animals.
