  • Hi, my name is Rex Walls
  • We first lived in this cabin!
  • Hi, My name is Jeanette Walls and this is my dysfunctional family!
  • Hi, my name is Rose Mary Walls! And I'm the mom.
  • 
  • I burned myself while making hotdogs and my dad 'rescued' me from the hospital, and to avoid the police, he took us on a very long trip to the woods!
  • Right now we arrived in California and are staying in a hotel with little to no money at all
  • CONFLICT: My parents can't make any choice whatsoever!!!!! (I think we are going to move somewhere else in the )
  • RISING ACTION
  • Jeanette's family lived in a cabin in the middle of the woods. There, because of my parents' dysfunction, we got in pretty big troubles!
  • I can feel something bad is waiting to happen!!!
  • We have now all moved to the Battle Mountain to Phoenix
  • Conflict Extended
  • Here is where the rising action begins and the main character faces the harsh eniornment in which she is in!
  • CLIMAX
  • MOM, DAD;  Me, Lori, and Brian are done! We are moving to new York!
  • Once the main character, burns herself, her dad steals her from the hospital to avoid paying for the medical bills. This sets the stage for future conflicts for the Walls family!
  • Faling Action Theme
  • My siblings and I have found a job in NYC. 
  • This is the rising action for the story because the family moves for the second time, leaving tons of pressure on the kids. 
  • This part of the book, is considered the climax because it is where the main character mkes her decission to take herself and her siblings to another place and finds a job for a much better life!
  • In this part of the story, Jeanette Walls winds down and reveals the theme:  Whatever, wherever and however you live, you have the gift of life, which allows you to pursue happiness in all sorts!
