"Our family were outsiders, and Ive always had the sense of an outsider" "
"Pony, Im scared"
"So am I, Johnny, so am I"
"Stay gold, Ponyboy, stay gold"
Ponyboy describes all of the Greasers and explains how each one ended up in the gang. He says that despite their rough backgrounds they have always been there for each other physically, and emotionally.
Johnny kills the Soc's leader, Bob, from drowning Ponyboy in the near by fountain. The boys run from their home, and abandon their families.
"Soda, Darry, and me are getting along better than ever, I am cleared of all charges and all of us Greasers are together again."
The climax is when Johnny ,who was in critical condition from the church fire, died. This is the turning point of the novel.
"Oh Pony I am so sorry"
The falling action is when the gangs meet for the rumble. Dally is killed after robbing a store, he only did it because he knew he was going to die, and he couldn't live another minute knowing that Johnny was never going to wake up.
"Lets do this Greasers"
"First, to run loses"
The story's resolution is that Ponyboy realizes that he is slowly, but surely, emotionally and physically healing from the past. He gets cleared from all charges and continues living with his brothers.
My favorite part of the book was when Ponyboy realized how much Darrel cared for him. In the hospital, instead of ignoring him, Pony ran straight into his rms. Thats what family is for.
