  • The United states declared war against Britain in 1812, because of trade restrictions we had with them and impressment of American sailors into the royal navy. James Madison, who was president at the time, put the war into action.
  • I declare war!
  • The British blockaded the atlantic coast with there ships.
  • Come at us America!
  • While some of the war was fought at sea, there were other battles near the Great Lakes, the south coast, and New Orleans. Britain got support with most of the on land battles from the Native Americans, who were against west word expansion. Also an important figure in the war is Andrew Jackson.
  • I've won manny battles against the Natives and the main British invasion at the battle of New Orleans.
  • The British did win the Battle of Bladensburg which allowed them to capture and burn Washington D.C
  • The war ended with The Treaty Of Ghent. Both parties returned occupied land to its pre-owner and peacefully resumed trade relations.
  • The war for Americans also ended with a new national anthem (the star spangled banner) and led into 'the era of good feelings" and the industrial revolution. The country was left confident and proud.
