  • The British are here for our weapons...
  • Bunker Hill
  • Trenton
  • The battle started the Revolution when the British invaded Concord to try and capture the rebellious leaders and destroy ammunition and other supplies. Paul Revere and his horse got ahead of the British and warned the people that they were coming. The British found no ammunition as the Militia had hidden them. The British and Militia fought at Lexington and the Americans lost, most were killed some fled.
  • Saratoga
  • The Patriots were defeated and the British got control of some of Massachusetts. This battle showed that the friendship between Britain and the Patriots wouldn't return after the fierce fight.
  • Valley Forge
  • Washington's Army went to Trenton where the Hessians were on the day after Christmas. Washington suspected they would be drunk on the day after Christmas, and they were, so they couldn't fight back properly. 800 Hessians were captured and Washington only lost one soldier, it was a major victory for the Patriots.
  • Yorktown
  • Saratoga was a major victory to the Patriots as they had won an important fort with lots of supplies, and it was the turning point in the war. The French, Spanish, and Dutch were all against the British and once the Patriots proved they could win, they all became an alliance against the British.
  • When Washington failed to recapture Philadelphia, the army fled to Valley Forge, where most of Washington's army died. There was a lot of starvation, diseases, and supply shortages.
  • The British surrendered in Yorktown to the French and American Armies as their forces were surrounded. The Declaration of independence was signed and the Revolution was finally over
