  • In April 19,1775 the battle of Lexington and concord took place. while on there way to Concord the British soldiers were ambushed by the militia of Massachusetts. A lot of British soldiers died.
  • saratoga
  • The Massachusetts militia set up on breeds hill to shoot down on the British troops. The Americans were successful but they ran out of ammo causing them to have to retreat. this was a confidence boost for the Americans.
  • valley forge
  • This was the first battle with the new American army. The army and George Washington crossed the Delaware river the night of Christmas and captured 800 drunk hessians.
  • Yorktown
  • The Americans won and had a turning point in the war. The also had a morel boost. The Americans victory proved to the French that they were worth helping.
  • Washington sets up camp for the winter, they had very low supplies and disease broke out. Benedict Arnold was also there . Washington started to use inoculation to help fight the sicknesses.
  • The French and the British navy were fighting in water while the Americans, French and British were fighting on land. The British ha a makeshift fort to fight. The Americans came from the right while the French flanked left.
