  • At ten years old, Cynthia Ann Parker moved with her family to Central Texas. They built Fort Parker on the Navasota River (circa 1835).
  • Comanche warriors attacked Fort Parker, and seized five captives including Parker.
  • Ten years later a trading party tries to negotiate her release, but both tribal elders and parker refuse.
  • She marries Peta Nocona, and has three children. One of whom is Quanah Parker.
  • In 1860 Parker (is about 45) is captured by the Texas Rangers and receives an annual stipend and land from the Texas legislature.
  • Though Parker never fully accepts white ways, she was not allowed to return to her Comanche family. Her son Quanah, becomes a powerful Comanche leader.
